1862. Songye Tribe
Wooden divination Instrument of Herbal Doctor.

Called Kasher-kasheke. The face is a Kalebwe style face, found in the central and southern Songye area. A pear shaped head atop a circular-tubular circle, with a footed bottom.  Collected in Kasai by eldest son of Kuba Chief- Sacoco. Mid 20th century. A wonderful aesthetic to hold, with he smooth carved dense wood surfaces.
